Little Saint Nick is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. littlestnick.org is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA.
"Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Measures to support accessibility
Little Saint Nick takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of littlestnick.org:
- Automated accessibility testing against WCAG 2.1 AA is run on a recurring schedule, most recently on September 2, 2026.
- Issues identified by testing are tracked and remediated in the site's source code, not masked by an overlay.
- An accessibility toolbar is available on every page (the icon in the corner of the screen) offering contrast, text size, spacing, dyslexia-friendly font, reading guide, and motion controls. The toolbar is hosted on this site and sends no data to third parties.
- Accessibility is included in ongoing maintenance and content review.
Known issues
Despite our best efforts, the most recent automated test (September 2, 2026) identified the following areas that may not yet fully meet the standard. We are working to address them:

- Elements must meet minimum color contrast ratio thresholds (WCAG 1.4.3) — found on 10 pages.
- Links must have discernible text (WCAG 2.4.4, 4.1.2) — found on 10 pages.
- ARIA commands must have an accessible name (WCAG 4.1.2) — found on 2 pages.
- <li> elements must be contained in a <ul> or <ol> (WCAG 1.3.1) — found on 1 page.
- <ul> and <ol> must only directly contain <li>, <script> or <template> elements (WCAG 1.3.1) — found on 1 page.
- Links must be distinguishable without relying on color (WCAG 1.4.1) — found on 1 page.
