On October 19, 2023, the community mourned the loss of 7-year-old Eric Guzzo after his heroic 16-month battle with cancer. Described as "literally the sweetest boy" by a family friend, Eric's kind-hearted nature left a mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, Eric's parents urged supporters to contribute to The Little Saint Nick Foundation(LSNF). In only a few weeks, over $10,000 was raised from his family, friends, teammates, and people inspired to give back. This money went towards a heartwarming St. Nick Gift Bag Packing Event to honor Eric's memory and will fund further events in the near future.

Family and friends gathered to pack 500 St. Nick Gift Bags for children in various hospitals in New York including Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, Cohen’s Children Medical Center, Syosset Hospital, and Plainview Hospital. The St. Nick Gift Bags packed by Eric’s loved ones had a widespread impact on hospitals across New York. The community expressed profound gratitude to Grandpa’s Tony’s Pizza for hosting the event and for their tremendous support in honoring Eric, displaying his picture above his usual booth as a reminder of his significant impact on the community.

Above all, Eric's parents exemplify selflessness, channeling their grief into giving back to others in honor of their beloved son. Their extraordinary dedication to this cause has touched the entire community, creating a lasting legacy for Eric. The LSNF Team and Eric’s family are working diligently to host events to honor Eric’s memory.
